Yolanda Gutiérrez
Mexico City, Mexico
The Devotion of the Sunflower, 2003
Yolanda Gutiérrez was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1970. She studied Visual Arts at the National School of Arts in Mexico. After graduation, she became an assistant professor at the National School of Arts. Her first exhibition occurred in 1989 in Mexico City. Gutiérrez has received numerous awards such as the Residential Workshop Award and The Young Creators Scholarship for the National Fund of Culture and Art. In 2003, Gutiérrez constructed The Devotion of the Sunflower for the South Carolina Botanical Garden. She currently lives and works in Cozumel, Mexico.
