Martha Jackson-Jarvis
USA
Martha Jackson-Jarvis received a Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then went on to obtain a Master’s degree of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Ceramics from Antioch University in Antioch, California. She has received many offers for prestigious teaching positions in institutions such as Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Maryland Institute College of Art, The Corcoran School of Art, Guildford College, University of Delaware, Howard University and University of the District of Columbia. Her works have been commissioned by several corporate entities and she has received many awards and grants for her work. In 2000, Jackson-Jarvis created Ochun for the South Carolina Botanical Garden. She currently resides in Washington, D.C.
